Shown here is the entrance door to the main room. Note the Scout emblem above it lights up when the room is in use. The inscription "In through this door walk the leaders of tomorrow" is a variation of a sign that once hung from the entrance archway to the obstacle course at William H. Pouch Scout Camp on Staten Island.
The hallway portion of the Scout center as completed in January 1997. Storage space is a premium at the center. Each Scout and leaders gets a locker to keep their coats, fitness gear and any other "stuff " they might need for meetings. Behind and above the locker are additional storage cabinets for flip charts and the Venture Crew’s camping equipment.
This lighted display board was donated by Stu Nemkowitz, past Troop Committee Chairman and past Lodge advisor to Shu-Shu-Gah Lodge #24 of the Order of the Arrow. It has a dual use of displaying announcements and pictures and it can be used to sort slides for slide presentations. Note the Norman Rockwell prints also on display above it.
Another view of the lockers and the Venture crew’s storage cabinets. The woodwork is done in yellow pine with Colonial Maple stain which provide a rustic tone which is seen throughout the center
